Men Make A Difference, Men Against Domestic Violence ™

88 % of abusers are men...not all men are abusers.

Co-founded in the fall of 2009 with then Attorney General Richard Blumenthal, this vibrant group has a mission of working to bring awareness to the community about the services provided by Interval House.  More than 20 prominent men actively work with us and with Senator Blumenthal to help break the insidious cycle.  This is done by speaking out, helping with fund raising, and using their time, talents and influence.  The men in this initiative work to educate, especially young men and boys, about domestic violence issues and healthy relationships.

A “Celebrity Half Time Basketball Game” is held annually at CCSU during the Blue Devil’s regular season; and when deserving, one of the men in this group is honored at our Breakfast With Champions. Throughout the year these men are visible in the community on our behalf.

2009 - present co-chairs of the initiative; Senator Richard Blumenthal and Interval House Development Director, Rosemary Padin.
