Please join us this October to raise voices, raise funds, and raise awareness!

In 2023, Interval House will observe Domestic Violence Awareness Month by rewriting the narrative on domestic violence as a public health crisis.

If you cannot make it to any of our events but still want to support our cause, you can make a charitable donation here. Thank you!

Did you know?

  • According to the CDC, over 12 million people experience domestic violence or intimate partner abuse every year.
  • Intimate partner violence (IPV) costs the United States exceeds $9 billion each year in direct care, law enforcement, and judicial services costs. On top of that, victims of domestic violence miss nearly eight million days of paid work every year, curbing productivity and costing American employers an additional $13 billion.
  • An estimated 5.3 million IPV victimizations occur among U.S. women ages 18 and older each year, resulting in nearly 2.0 million injuries—more than 550,000 of which require medical attention. For victims, the physical and psychological impacts from experiencing abuse can last a lifetime, limiting not only joy and healthy relationships but educational and economic opportunities. Additionally, children who witness abuse between adults in the home are at serious risk for physical and psychological trauma, and are likely to perpetuate the cycle of abuse as adults.
  • Domestic violence is a cycle that repeats itself through trauma and learned behaviors over generations. Because of this, it is predictable and therefore, it is preventable.
