Guardians of HopePlanned Giving Program
Established in 1977, Interval House provides critical services to victims of domestic violence in Hartford and 23 surrounding cities and towns. We also give survivors something they yearn for—hope for a life free from violence and fear. As a Guardian of Hope, you play a vital role in this process. Your planned gift helps sustain our agency in the future, enabling us to provide our clients with the tools and resources they need to live safer lives for years to come. Below are a few types of gifts to discuss with your financial adviser to see if they are right for you.
Naming Hartford Interval House, Inc. (Federal Tax ID 06-0960005) in your will or trust is a simple way to support the organization and carry out your charitable interests. A bequest can be earmarked for any purpose you choose, and can designate a specific amount or percentage of your estate to benefit our agency.
Gift of Retirement Assets
Retirement plan assets are ideal as charitable contributions because they are so heavily taxed if left to heirs. By naming Hartford Interval House, Inc. as a remainder beneficiary of these assets, you can continue to take regular lifetime withdrawals from your plan while still leaving a future gift to us.
Gift of Stock
Interval House welcomes stock donations through Integrated Wealth Management Group at UBS Financial Services Inc., One State Street, Suite 1600, Hartford, CT 06103. The account number for Hartford Interval House, Inc. is HG 47414 and the DTC Transfer code is 0221. You can reach UBS at (860) 727-1500.
Gift of Life Insurance
By designating Hartford Interval House, Inc. as a beneficiary of your life insurance policy, you may be able to take a tax deduction for the current cash value of the policy. If you decide to continue paying the premiums, you may also be able to deduct those payments each year. Your life insurance agent can give you more information.
Charitable Remainder Trust
A charitable remainder trust is an irrevocable arrangement that generates an income stream for you or other beneficiaries, with the remainder of the donated assets coming to Hartford Interval House, Inc. Tax benefits include an immediate income tax deduction and removal of the asset from your estate.
Charitable Lead Trust
Support Hartford Interval House, Inc. now and your family later with a charitable lead trust. Your trust pays income to the organization for a period of years and then passes the assets, often appreciated, to your children or grandchildren with minimal or no gift or estate taxes. Charitable lead trusts are irrevocable.
Charitable Gift Annuity
A charitable gift annuity allows you to make a gift to Hartford Interval House, Inc. and in return, you receive a tax benefit plus a percentage of the original principle as a fixed stream of income starting at a specific age. Charitable gift annuities are irrevocable.
