The GalaStep Up and Step Out
Step Up and Step Out, a heart and soul benefit for Interval House, is the agency’s largest fundraiser and has been called by many in Hartford, the party of the year. A black tie-welcomed event, the gala is well attended by our supporters as well as many recognizable faces in our state. Our 2017 gala was sold out!

Easy to see why. What makes it a truly magical evening is the fun had by those attending — dancing to the Shaded Soul band and the four-course tasting menu delicately paired with exceptional wines provided by Jim Donahue, Winam Wines. Top Vintage…
The night begins with a televised walk down the red carpet where you are greeted by one of our local celebrities and welcomed by our President and CEO, Mary-Jane Foster. Our 2017 honorary chairs were Governor and Mrs. Dannel P. Malloy, United States Senator Richard Blumenthal attended and our State Representative Dr. Bill Petit joined us as well. Our red carpet host was Joey Furey of Fox 61 and Brad Drazen of NBC CT our gala emcee!
During the cocktail hour, bids on the silent auction are always competitive for such items as VIP tickets to attend New York shows, a private dinner for eight at The Society Room, a 6-liter bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon, one of a kind estate jewelry, and so much more.
Along with the first course, there is a ‘live’ auction boasting some extraordinary items which in the past have included: luxury condos for a week in Boston or Newport or a beach home in Old Saybrook, VIP suites in fine hotels, tickets to professional baseball and football games, signed jerseys, and unforgettable dinners made by top chefs from Connecticut.
And if that is not enough, you will enjoy good conversation, dinner music and then dance the night away. For many years the gala has been held at The Society Room of Hartford where a sweeping staircase flows down from the 3,000 sq. ft. balcony showcasing the grandest of entrances…that alone is memorable.
Mark your calendars now for our 2018 gala, April 14th! We cannot thank you enough.
